Roleplayer exists to help people find good games and good people to play them with. These rules apply everywhere on the site — listings, character sheets, campaign pages, profiles and messages.
Be a good party member
- Treat other members with respect. Argue about rules, not about people.
- No harassment, threats, hate speech or discrimination based on race, ethnicity, religion, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, disability or age.
- No sexual content involving minors, ever. No explicit sexual content in public listings, profiles or character sheets.
- No spam, unrelated advertising or duplicate listings.
- Respect “no.” If someone declines an invite or stops replying, let it go.
Post honest games
- Describe your game accurately: system, schedule, tone, content and any cost.
- Paid games must say so up front and include the price.
- Mark your listing full or close it once your seats are filled.
- Flag mature themes (horror, graphic violence and so on) and agree on boundaries at session zero.
Stay safe
- Roleplayer accounts are for adults (18+).
- Keep personal details such as your home address and phone number private until you trust someone. Never post a street address in a listing.
- For in-person games, meet first in a public place such as a game store or library, and let a friend know where you are going.
- Roleplayer does not process payments. Be careful about paying someone you have not met.
- Use the Report button on any listing, character, campaign or profile that breaks these rules.
Respect creators
- Only share content you have the right to share. Do not post copyrighted rulebook text, paid adventures or art you do not own.
- Homebrew is welcome — give credit when you build on someone else’s work.
Enforcement
Moderators may edit or remove content, close listings, or suspend accounts that break these rules. Serious or repeated violations lead to a permanent ban. If you see something, report it — every report is read.
